Out of the total vacancies, 309 posts are allocated for Assam.
Stipend and Training Period
Apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as per the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973, Apprentices Rules 1992 (as amended), and the corporation's internal guidelines. The duration of the apprenticeship training will range from 12 to 24 months, depending on the trade.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and not more than 24 years old as of 31st May 2025. The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and up to 10 to 15 years for PwBD candidates depending on their category.
The educational qualifications vary by post:

For Trade Apprentice – Attendant Operator and Trade Apprentice (Boiler), a three-year B.Sc. degree with subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or Industrial Chemistry is required.

For Trade Apprentice (Fitter), candidates must have passed Matric and hold a minimum two-year ITI certificate in the Fitter trade.

For Technician Apprentices in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation, a three-year Diploma in the respective engineering discipline is required.

Trade Apprentice – Secretarial Assistant requires a graduate degree in B.A., B.Sc., or B.Com.

Trade Apprentice – Accountant requires a B.Com. degree.

For Data Entry Operator (Fresher), candidates must have passed Class 12.

For Data Entry Operator (Skill Certificate Holder), Class 12 pass is required along with a certificate in Domestic Data Entry Operator.

ITI and Data Entry Operator applicants should register at www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in

Diploma holders should register at www.nats.education.gov.in
After selecting "Apprenticeship Opportunities," candidates should search for IOCL as the location and choose the relevant trade to proceed with registration.
Step 2:
After completing registration on the apprenticeship portals, candidates must also apply on the IOCL Refineries Division recruitment portal at www.iocrefrecruit.in. While applying, they must indicate their preferred refinery unit.
