The Assam Public Service Commission has released an official notification for the recruitment of 32 Junior Engineer (Civil) posts under the Fishery Department, Government of Assam. Eligible and interested candidates can apply online through the official APSC recruitment portal.



Post Details

The recruitment is for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil), and a total of 32 vacancies have been announced. The distribution of vacancies by category is as follows: 13 posts for Unreserved (UR) category, 9 for OBC/MOBC, 1 for OBC/MOBC candidates belonging to Tea Tribe & Adivasi communities, 3 for SC, 3 for STP (Scheduled Tribe Plains), and 3 for STH (Scheduled Tribe Hills).

The post falls under the Fishery Department of the Government of Assam. Selected candidates will receive a pay scale ranging from Rs. 14,000/- to Rs. 70,000/- per month (Pay Band-2), along with a Grade Pay of Rs. 8,700/- per month.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for this post, candidates must be between 18 and 40 years of age as on 1st January 2025. Age relaxation will be provided as per government norms: 5 years for SC and ST candidates, 3 years for OBC/MOBC, and 10 years for PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities).

Candidates must hold a 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or Civil Engineering & Planning from an AICTE-recognized technical institute. The diploma must be obtained through a regular course; diplomas earned via distance learning will not be accepted.

Applicants must be Indian citizens as defined under Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India and must also be permanent residents of Assam. They must provide a Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issued for educational purposes or a valid Employment Exchange Registration Certificate as proof of residency.

Additional Requirements

Applicants must be registered in any employment exchange in Assam. Additionally, candidates are required to submit a declaration regarding compliance with the Small Family Norms in Form-A at the time of application.

Application Fee

The application fee varies by category. General category candidates must pay Rs. 297.20, OBC/MOBC candidates Rs. 197.20, and SC/ST/BPL/PwBD candidates Rs. 47.20. The payment should be made online as per instructions on the portal.
