Entrance Test: DUPGET 2025
Dibrugarh University has released the official notification for the Dibrugarh University Post Graduate Entrance Test (DUPGET) 2025. This entrance test is mandatory for admission into various Post Graduate programmes, including MA, MSc, MCom, and M.Ed., offered by Dibrugarh University and its affiliated and autonomous colleges. Candidates who have passed, appeared, or are currently appearing in the sixth semester of their BA, BSc, or BCom examinations are eligible to apply for DUPGET 2025 through the university’s online portal.
The academic session for which admissions are being conducted is 2025–2026. DUPGET 2025 will be an OMR-based entrance test carrying 100 marks, with a duration of two hours. The examination is scheduled to be held on the 7th and 8th of July 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
For MA, MSc, and MCom courses, candidates must either have a Bachelor's degree with Major or Honours in the concerned subject with at least 45% marks or an equivalent grade point, or a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks in the subject applied for and 45% aggregate marks in the case of General Programme candidates. Those who have completed their undergraduate studies under the CBCS system must have studied a minimum of 24 credits in the subject they wish to pursue for their PG course.
Candidates who have appeared or are appearing in the final semester exams of their undergraduate programme and are awaiting results are eligible to apply. Additionally, those with backlogs in the 2nd and/or 4th semesters are also allowed to sit for DUPGET 2025 and can be granted provisional admission upon selection.
Subjects Offered
For MA, the available subjects include Anthropology, Assamese, Bodo, Economics, History, Sociology, Statistics, Geography, Education, English, Mathematics, Political Science, Philosophy, Applied Psychology, Mass Communication, and Women’s Studies.
For MSc, the subjects include Anthropology, Applied Geology, Life Sciences (Botany and Zoology), Physics, Statistics, Geography, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biotechnology and Bioinformatics.
The MCom course is available with specializations in Finance and Marketing.
Programmes like M.Ed., MCA, and MTTM are also offered, with specific entrance requirements.
Application Fee and Payment
Candidates must pay an application fee of Rs. 1000 through the online payment gateway using a debit card, credit card, or internet banking. No other payment method will be accepted.

Important Dates
The online application process will begin on 8th May 2025, and the last date to submit the application form is 28th May 2025. The entrance exam will be held on the 7th and 8th of July 2025, and the result is expected to be declared by 18th July 2025. The exact date of admission will be announced later.
DUPGET Exam Format and Details
The exam will be conducted in objective type multiple-choice format, with a total of 100 questions. The question paper will be in English, except for language subjects. The test duration is two hours, and a negative marking of 0.25 marks will be applied for every incorrect response.
Exam Centres
DUPGET 2025 will be conducted across several test centres, including Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Sivasagar, Jorhat, Golaghat, Majuli, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Charaideo, Guwahati, Nirjuli (Arunachal Pradesh), and Diphu (Karbi Anglong).
Exam Schedule
On 7th July 2025, the first shift (10 AM – 12 PM) includes subjects like Anthropology, Chemistry, Education, English, Mathematics, Applied Geology, and History. The second shift (1:30 PM – 3:30 PM) covers Assamese, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, Philosophy, Political Science, Bodo, and MTTM.
On 8th July 2025, the third shift (10 AM – 12 PM) includes Applied Psychology, Economics, Life Sciences (Botany and Zoology), M.Ed., Physics, Statistics, and Geography. The final shift (1:30 PM – 3:30 PM) includes Mass Communication, MCom (Finance and Marketing), Sociology, Women’s Studies, and MCA.
