The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, has released a notification (CEN No. 01/2025) for the recruitment of 9970 Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) posts across various RRBs. The online application process has started from 12th April 2025 and will continue until 11th May 2025. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official RRB website.

RRB ALP Vacancy Details

• Name of Post: Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP)

• Total Vacancies: 9970

• Vacancies under RRB Guwahati: 30

• Pay Scale: Level 2 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix with initial basic pay of ₹19,900/- plus applicable allowances

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit:
Candidates must be between 18 to 30 years of age as of 1st July 2025.

Age Relaxation:

• OBC-NCL: 3 years

• SC/ST: 5 years

Educational Qualification:
Candidates must meet any one of the following qualifications:

• Matriculation/SSLC with ITI in relevant trades from NCVT/SCVT recognized institutions

• Matriculation/SSLC with Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in approved trades

• Three-year Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile Engineering

• A combination of relevant engineering streams from a recognized institution

• A Degree in the above disciplines will also be accepted in lieu of a Diploma

Physical and Medical Requirements

• Medical Standard: A1

• Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit in all respects

• Vision Requirements:

  • Distant vision: 6/6, 6/6 without glasses (with fogging test, must not accept +2D)

  • Near vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 without glasses

  • Must clear tests for color vision, binocular vision, field of vision, night vision, mesopic vision, etc.

Application Fee

• SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PwBD/Female/Transgender/Minorities/Economically Backward Class: ₹250 (refundable after first CBT, after deducting bank charges)

• Others: ₹500

3. Fill in all required personal and academic details.

4. Upload a recent passport-size photograph, signature, and other necessary documents.

5. Pay the application fee according to your category.

6. Submit the form and take a printout of the application for future reference.
