Assam Engineering Service Recruitment Board (AESRB), Guwahati

The Assam Engineering Service Recruitment Board (AESRB), Guwahati, has released employment notifications for the recruitment of 58 Assistant Professor posts (both Technical and Non-Technical) in State Engineering Colleges under the Higher Education (Technical) Department, Government of Assam. Interested and eligible candidates are invited to apply online.

AESRB Recruitment Details

1. Assistant Professor (Technical)

No. of Posts: 54
Branch-wise Vacancies:

• Civil Engineering: 24

• Mechanical Engineering: 15

• Electrical Engineering: 5

• Chemical Engineering: 6

• Instrumentation Engineering: 3

• Computer Application: 1

Educational Qualifications:
(i) For Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, and Instrumentation Engineering:

• B.E./B. Tech./B.S. (4-year Degree course) and M.E./M. Tech./M.S. or integrated M. Tech in the relevant branch with First Class or equivalent in any one of the degrees.

(ii) For Computer Application:

• B.E./B. Tech./B.S. (4-year Degree course) and M.E./M. Tech./M.S. or integrated M. Tech in relevant branch with First Class or equivalent in any one of the degrees, OR

• B.E./B. Tech. and MCA with First Class or equivalent in any one of the two degrees, OR

• Graduation of three years’ duration with Mathematics as a compulsory subject and MCA with First Class or equivalent, with 2 years of teaching/research/industrial experience after acquiring the MCA degree.

Note: Candidates with a Ph.D. after a Bachelor's Degree from an institution of national importance with GATE/CEED will also be eligible for the post of Assistant Professor.

2. Assistant Professor (Non-Technical)

Subject-wise Vacancies:

• Mathematics: 6

Educational Qualifications:

• As per UGC Notification No. F.1-2/2017(EC/PS) dated 18th July, 2018 and UGC guidelines issued from time to time.
  Note: Candidates who have done Ph.D. after a Bachelor's Degree from an institution of national importance with GATE/CEED will also be eligible for the post of Assistant Professor.

Other Criteria for AESRB Recruitment

• Residency: Candidates must be permanent residents of Assam with Indian Citizenship as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.

• Scale of Pay: Rs. 57,700 – Rs. 1,82,400 (Level-10) plus other allowances as admissible under rules.

• Age Limit: Candidates should be between 21 and 38 years of age as on 01-01-2025.
  Age Relaxation:

  • SC/STP/STH: 5 years

  • OBC/MOBC: 3 years

  • PwBD: 10 years

• Application Fee:

  • Rs. 250 for General candidates

  • Rs. 150 for OBC candidates

  • Exempted for SC/ST and PwBD candidates as per Assam Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Vacancies in Services and Posts) (Amendment) Act, 2024.
    Payment is to be made through the online payment gateway on the AESRB portal.
