NCET 2025: National Common Entrance Test
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official notification for the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2025. The exam will be held on 29th April 2025 (Tuesday). This article provides all the necessary details about the NCET.
NCET is a national-level entrance exam conducted by NTA on behalf of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Qualifying in NCET is mandatory for admission into the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) at select universities, including Central/State universities, IITs, NITs, RIEs, and government colleges for the academic session 2025-2026.
As per the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020, the 4-year integrated B.Ed. will offer a dual-major bachelor’s degree in Education and a specialized subject (such as language, history, music, mathematics, computer science, chemistry, economics, art, physical education, etc.). The course will cover pedagogy, sociology, history, psychology, early childhood education, literacy and numeracy, and knowledge about India’s values, arts, and traditions.

Eligibility Criteria:

Age limit: There is no age limit for candidates. However, candidates must meet the age requirements set by the respective university or institution they are applying to.

Educational qualification: Candidates who have passed or are appearing in the class 12/equivalent exam in 2025 can appear for NCET 2025.
Examination Fee:
The fee must be paid online via Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI, or Paytm Services.

This section has 23 questions, with 20 to be attempted.

The exam will assess candidates' abilities in language, domain-specific subjects, general knowledge, logical reasoning, and teaching aptitude.

Language Section: Reading comprehension, literary aptitude, vocabulary.

General Test: General knowledge, current affairs, mental ability, numerical ability, quantitative reasoning, and logical reasoning.
