CUET UG 2025 Overview

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2025 is an all-India entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to various undergraduate programs in central universities and other participating universities or institutions under the Ministry of Education. This exam will provide a common platform for students across India, especially for those from rural and remote areas, offering equal opportunities for admissions to central and participating universities.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age Limit: No age limit for appearing in the CUET UG 2025 exam.

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed or be appearing for their Class 12/equivalent exams in 2025. However, they must check the specific eligibility criteria set by the universities or institutions to which they are applying.

Examination Fees:

The exam fee depends on the number of subjects selected by the candidate. The fee structure is as follows:

  • General Category:

    • Up to 3 Subjects: ₹1000

    • For each Additional Subject: ₹400

  • OBC (NCL) / EWS:

    • Up to 3 Subjects: ₹900

    • For each Additional Subject: ₹375

  • SC/ST/PwBD/Third Gender:

    • Up to 3 Subjects: ₹800

    • For each Additional Subject: ₹350

  • Centres Outside India:

    • Up to 3 Subjects: ₹4500

    • For each Additional Subject: ₹1800

Application Process:

  1. Visit the official NTA CUET website and click on the “Online Application Form” link.

  2. Complete the application form by entering your personal and educational details.

  3. Upload the required documents, including a passport-sized photograph and signature.

  4. Pay the application fee based on your category.

  5. Submit the form and take a printout of the submitted application.

  • Last Date for Application Submission: 22nd March 2025 (by 11:50 PM)

CUET UG Exam Scheme:

  • Subjects Offered: 37 subjects (13 Indian languages, 23 domain-specific subjects, and 1 General Aptitude Test)

  • Maximum Subjects to Choose: 5 subjects (including languages and General Aptitude Test)

  • Question Pattern: Each paper will contain 50 questions, and all questions are compulsory.

  • Duration: Each paper lasts 60 minutes (with an additional 20 minutes for PwBD candidates).

  • Marking Scheme: Correct answer: +5 marks, Incorrect answer: -1 mark (negative marking).

  • Language Subjects: Reading comprehension (based on factual, literary, and narrative passages), literary aptitude, and vocabulary.

  • General Aptitude Test: General knowledge, current affairs, general mental ability, numerical ability, quantitative reasoning, logical and analytical reasoning, and basic mathematics (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, mensuration, statistics).
