The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has released an official notification for the recruitment of Assistant Engineer (Civil & Mechanical) and Junior Engineer (Civil) under the Water Resources Department, Government of Assam. 1. Assistant Engineer (Civil)

• Educational Qualification:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized university

  • OR Passed Part A & B of AMIE in Civil Engineering (enrolled before 31.05.2013)

  • Degree must be from a regular course recognized by AICTE/UGC (No distance education)

2. Assistant Engineer (Mechanical)

• Total Posts: 7

• Category-wise Distribution:

  • UR: 5

  • STP: 1

  • OBC/MOBC: 1

• Pay Scale: ₹30,000 – ₹1,10,000 (PB-4) + Grade Pay ₹12,700

• Age Limit: 21 to 38 years as on 01.01.2025

• Educational Qualification:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university

  • OR Passed Part A & B of AMIE in Mechanical Engineering (enrolled before 31.05.2013)

  • Degree must be from a regular course recognized by AICTE/UGC (No distance education)

3. Junior Engineer (Civil)

• Total Posts: 160

• Category-wise Distribution:

  • UR: 88

  • SC: 15

  • STP: 20

  • STH: 7

  • OBC/MOBC: 22

• Pay Scale: ₹14,000 – ₹70,000 (PB-2) + Grade Pay ₹8,700

• Age Limit: 18 to 40 years as on 01.01.2025

• Educational Qualification:

  • 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering/Construction Technology/Civil & Planning from a recognized institute

  • Diploma must be full-time and AICTE-approved (No distance education)

Eligibility Criteria

• Nationality: Candidate must be an Indian citizen as per Articles 5 to 8 of the Indian Constitution.

• Domicile: Candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.

  • Must produce PRC for educational purposes or Employment Exchange Registration Certificate.

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST: 5 years (up to 43 years)

• OBC/MOBC: 3 years (up to 41 years)

• PwBD: 10 years
