Selection Process for Assam Police Recruitment

The selection process for Assam Police recruitment consists of several stages:

  1. Physical Standard Test (PST): This is the first stage, which involves measuring the height, weight, and chest of male candidates, as well as checking for physical deformities like knock knees, flat feet, and color blindness.

  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who pass the PST will move on to the PET, which includes a race, long jump, and chin-up tests. The minimum requirements for the race are 3200 meters in 14 minutes for male candidates and 1600 meters in 8 minutes for female candidates. For the long jump, male candidates must clear 335 cm and female candidates 244 cm. Chin-up scores for male candidates are based on the number of chin-ups performed, with higher scores awarding more points.

  3. Written Test: Candidates who clear the PST and PET will be called for the written test. The written exam will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions on subjects such as elementary arithmetic, general English, logical reasoning, Assam’s history, geography, polity, economy, and general awareness/current affairs. The total marks for the written test will be 50, with no negative marking.

Candidates will be shortlisted for the written test based on their performance in the PST and PET. Only those who meet the qualifying standards will be eligible to take the written exam. After the written test, a merit list will be prepared, and candidates will proceed to the next stage of recruitment.
